Quality Carriers, Inc. (QC), headquartered in Tampa, FL, is North America's largest bulk liquid chemical carrier. Through a network of more than 100 terminals and facilities, we transport a broad range of chemical products and provide our customers with value-added transportation services. 

Summary: 

As the Operations Manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the day-to-day efficiency of terminal operations, including dispatch, compliance (DOT and safety), customer service support as needed, assistance with driver hiring and retention, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Managing operational staff (Customer Service, Drive Manager, and ICCCS positions) with coordination of daily dispatch functions to include Tractor/Driver/Trailer utility, service performance, tank cleaning and tank wash review (approvals, research, resolution to conflicts), company driver payroll completion.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are being met for all Operations Support functions.
  • Ensure all orders are being entered timely and accurately, assets are assigned prior to the beginning of the movement, loads are dispatched via PeopleNet, and macros are completed to ensure accurate billing.
  • Overall driver management, safety performance, compliance and hiring and retention.
  • Ensure all equipment is in compliance (both PM and Annual Inspections)
  • Training of new staff for job functions.
  • Promoting a positive leadership example.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required
  • 2+ Years Terminal experience
  • 2-4 Years Management experience

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities (Competencies)

  • Understanding of operational procedures of bulk truck terminal (preferred)
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Leadership abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Management of dispatchers and clerical staff.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. After hours on-call availability required.

    Salary: $70,000-$80,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
