Position Description
Plans, organizes, and conducts research in assigned clinical department for use in own work or in projects of the institution by performing the following duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Major/Essential Functions
- Initiates and performs internal audit and monitoring of the study
- Creates and maintains records and files of study materials, tracking essential documents, correspondence, provider information and performance.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate credentialing approval from the Relational Health Center (RHC-Covenant) office.
- Maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Obtain and maintain appropriate credentialing approval from the University Medical Center Medical Staff office.
- Participate in the Study network and node meetings.
- Maintain required institutional training to be able to participate in Clinical Research activities (i.e., CITI and HIPAA research training)
- Obtain SoCRA (CCRP) or ACRP (CCRC) certification when eligible.
- Attend affiliated clinical research and professional meetings where research and compliance training may occur.
- Assist with clinical research education and training of volunteers, students, and new employees.
- Assist faculty/staff with the development of research protocols.
- Maintain study files/documents for all assigned studies.
- Recruit and enroll human subjects while protecting subjects’ rights.
- Facilitate IRB application and submission via the Cayuse system.
- Develop and maintain relationships with faculty members interested in or conducting clinical research.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and/or interest in psychiatry/mental health issues/research.
- Knowledge of procedures and medications relevant to clinical research trials
- Ability to follow and understand both treatment and non-treatment protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment and take appropriate action when needed.

Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a field of study related to the clinical research trial plus one (1) year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal three (3) years
Certified Clinical Research Professional as defined by The Society of Clinical Research Associates OR
Ability to obtain certification as a Clinical Research Professional within two years from date of hire or upon eligibility
