SUMMARY:
Oversee the processing of qualified sale opportunities from the gathering of complete customer requirements through product delivery, to provide visible accountability through the entire Product Realization Process.
The position is the primary customer contact after the sale of systems, and follows the product from its conception through installation. The position interfaces directly with Sales in the requirements definition process for qualified leads, and executes the Tactical opportunity Filter to validate the profitable feasibility of the realization of sales opportunities to ensure success of system feasibility and timely delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with the Field Sales Engineer, gathers customer requirements data for pre-qualified sales leads, and ensures their completeness.
- Evaluates customer requirements against Plasma-Therm LLC capabilities to identify discrepancies
- Secures in-house technical resources to assess the feasibility of compliance with discrepant requirements
- Determines an estimate of the scope of effort and cost to achieve compliance with customer requirements.
- Generates a system configuration that effects the customer’s performance requirements for product costing and determination of the product realization path.
- Develops a high level workplan (as required) and completes the business case for the justification of the sales project for the Product opportunity Board.
- Generates system quotations for sales opportunities approved by the Board.
- In response to a customer order, forms a cross-functional program team to effect product realization.
- For path 2 & 3 projects, coordinate with Engineering designs of products or systems such as vacuum chambers, controls, robots, material handling, electrode structure , and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems to interface machines, hardware, and software as required by customer specification. Performs engineering design work for minor modifications in path 2 projects.
- Coordinates the Customer Program team in the fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the entire Supply Chain Process by documenting learned lesson.

Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
- Three or more years related experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Have clear Process application understanding.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, technical journals and papers, and other related material.
- Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with vendors.
- Ability to develop and track project schedules.
- Advanced PLASMA-THERM LLC Product knowledge.
- Be able to demonstrate superior Customer skills.
- Must have working knowledge of current required computer skills used in a networked office environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation, with clean room and laboratory facility.
- The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
