Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) designs and manufactures custom, build-to-print, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electronic power supplies for military, industrial, and commercial applications. We are located in Middletown, PA (approx. 4 miles from campus). We are seeking Electrical Engineering students to participate in our Internship Program. We require a minimum of 10–15 hours per week and will schedule the hours around your classes.
The student will be working in the Electrical Engineering department with the support of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer and Engineering Supervisor, both of whom will be providing mentorship. Below is a partial list of projects on which the student will be working:
• Perform bench testing and data compilation of prototype circuits
• Execute final design verification tests for new product development
• Perform component stress calculations for new product development
• Research component availability and pricing
• Execute Engineering procedures and test plans to verify accuracy
• Develop procedures and test plans intended for use in manufacturing
• Assist Engineers with day to day assignments
• Assist Engineers with test fixturing
• Assist Engineers with setup and tear down of test environments
• Perform Bill of Materials (BOM) verification and costing tasks
• Perform simulations of analog and digital circuits
• Participate in software and firmware development and validation
The ideal candidate will be working toward a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree at an accredited institution, have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. Strong computer skills are required.
This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
