At Pattern Bioscience, we’re tackling antibiotic resistance, one of the biggest public health challenges of our time. We use AI and single-cell analysis to quickly recognize the bacteria causing an infection and to predict which drugs will cure the infection.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Assistant to support our microbiology technologists and scientists in foundational lab tasks for a project period of four months. This contract role is ideal for someone eager to grow in laboratory science and contribute to life-saving research. You’ll be part of a passionate team working to improve the world’s most important health decisions. This is an opportunity to pivot into clinical microbiology, diagnostic research, and clinical trial workflows and good documentation practices.
How You Will Contribute
- Receive, label, and process patient specimens with accuracy and care.
- Prepare samples for analysis and inoculate culture media.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure supplies are well-stocked.
- Clean and organize lab equipment and workspaces to uphold safety standards.
- Dispose of biohazardous waste in compliance with protocols.
- Assist with data entry of test results and patient information.
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure efficient daily operations.

Desired Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or research lab is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
- Experience with specimen handling and data entry systems.
