The University of Southern Maine is searching for an individual to join our Facilities Management team as a Mail Services Assistant CL2. This position will be primarily assigned to our Portland campus and be a key member of a small team that is student focused every day. This is a full-time regular position that is core to USM’s ability to deliver an exceptional and affordable educational experience to students in Maine and across the country; AND an opportunity for you to advance your education with our tuition waiver program!
This position will pay $17.41/hour.
The primary work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with possible evenings and weekends based on the needs of the University.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Two years mail, equipment, or administrative experience.
- Valid State of Maine driver’s license that meets requirements to operate University vehicles and equipment.
- Customer service skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Commercial shipping methods, terminology and equipment.
- Knowledge of UPS, Federal Express and US postal service rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of safe work methods and safe operation of assigned mail processing equipment.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
