Job Summary
The Pump and Motor Control Technician position requires a strong background in general building and facility maintenance as part of our maintenance team at Massanutten Waterpark. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing all pump systems, ensuring efficient operation of water features, and assisting with general facility upkeep. Will be proactive, hands-on, and have a broad range of maintenance skills to keep the waterpark environment safe, clean, and functioning smoothly.
Required
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a pump technician, maintenance technician, or in a similar role, preferably in a waterpark, pool, or industrial environment
Strong understanding of pump systems, filtration systems, and general plumbing/electrical/mechanical systems
Proficient with tools and equipment used in pump repair and general building maintenance
Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair issues efficiently
Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with other team members and reporting issues to supervisors
Knowledge of safety protocols related to pump systems, electrical systems, and general maintenance work
Preferred
Certifications in electrical work, plumbing, motor controls, or HVAC systems
Prior experience working in a waterpark or similar leisure facility
EPA Certification and/or knowledge of EPA standards for water treatment and quality management
Typical Schedule
Days:
5 days per week; includes weekends and holidays
Hours:
7am-3:30pm; additional hours as needed
Core Responsibilities
- Regularly inspect and monitor the operation of all water pumps, filtration systems, and water circulation equipment
- Diagnose and repair issues with pumps, motors, valves, and related plumbing equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance on pumps and water systems to prevent equipment failure and extend the lifespan of machinery
- Assist with the installation of new water pumps and related systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements
- Perform general building maintenance tasks, including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and painting
- Fix doors, windows, and other structural elements as needed to ensure the safety and aesthetics of the waterpark
- Ensure cleanliness of mechanical rooms, pump stations, and other maintenance areas; perform routine cleaning of pumps and other waterpark facilities
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, water quality standards, and environmental guidelines
- Respond to maintenance-related emergencies (e.g., pump failure, water leaks, electrical issues) in a timely and efficient manner
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with company policies and industry regulations
- Other duties as assigned by management
