Position Summary: Responsible for the generation and processing SBA 7(a), 504, and Express loans specifically for healthcare professionals.
Essential Functions
Healthcare Business Development & Sales
- Originate SBA 7(a), 504, and Express loans specifically for healthcare professionals (dentists, physicians, veterinarians).
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with COIs (practice brokers, consultants, CPAs, attorneys, supply reps, and industry associations).
- Act as a trusted advisor to healthcare providers on financing strategies unique to their professional and practice lifecycle.
- Consistently achieve or exceed SBA loan production goals.
Internal Partnering & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Treat conventional bankers as key customers:
- Educate them on SBA program options and eligibility.
- Provide consultative support on structuring deals where SBA is the right fit.
- Respond quickly to banker inquiries and deliver white-glove service.
- Collaborate with underwriting, credit, and closing teams to ensure efficient, compliant deal flow.
- Share market intelligence with leadership and teammates on healthcare industry trends.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Guide healthcare borrowers through loan structures, eligibility requirements, and documentation processes.
- Build long-term relationships with doctors by positioning SBA products as part of their overall financial strategy (practice, personal, and real estate).
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell complementary banking solutions (treasury, deposits, merchant services).
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to SBA SOPs, healthcare industry regulations, and bank policies.
- Provide complete, accurate loan proposals and credit memos.
- Maintain awareness of portfolio performance and risk indicators specific to healthcare practices.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Marginal Functions
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and Bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, SAR, CTR, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, EEO, and fair employment practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications a plus.
- 5+ years SBA lending experience with a proven track record in healthcare lending (DDS, MD, DVM).
- Strong knowledge of SBA 7(a) and 504 loan structures, eligibility, and SOP compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to build referral networks in the healthcare industry.
- Experience partnering with internal banking teams and serving as an in-house product expert.
Minimum Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of bank policies, procedures and products

- Consultative sales approach with deep understanding of healthcare practice dynamics.
- Strong relationship-building and presentation skills with both external COIs and internal partners.
- Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline while ensuring deal quality.
- Leadership and mentoring skills for educating peers and guiding clients.
Physical Demands
In terms of an 8-hour workday, “occasional” equals 1% to 33%, “frequent” equals 34% to 66% and “continuous” equals 67% to 100%.
