Description


Human Support Services is seeking a Part-Time Mental Health Awareness & Training - Project Coordinator, to our premier team of mental health professionals in Monroe County, IL. This equates to 20 hours of work a week. 


The Project Coordinator - MHAT will coordinate all aspects of the SAMHSA Mental Health Awareness & Training grant for Monroe County.


Primary Job Duties:

  1. To meet with the Chief Program Officer once a month, or more frequently as needed, for supervision and planning meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  2. Function as the Training Coordinator for the life of the MHAT grant -
  3. Coordinate & record all aspects of grant-provided training to include:
  •  Mental Health First Aid
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid
  • Signs of Suicide

4. Take the lead in the development and distribution of a comprehensive resource guide for Monroe County.

5. Assist in the development and continuation of an Advisory Council made up of 12 core community sector areas that will serve as advisors to the project throughout the life of the grant. Serve as the lead facilitator of this Advisory Council.

6. Work with the contractual evaluator for the MHAT project to complete the research project with identified students/parents.

7. Complete, or assist in the completion of all required reporting for the MHAT project including but not limited to:

  • Inputting data into the data management systems – eraCommons
  • Using data collection tools and forms properly
  • Reading, preparing and interpreting quality reports, both those within HSS and those provided by SAMHSA
  • Using data to improve performance

8. Make recommendations to the Leadership Team on trends identified, program outcomes, possible future programming areas for HSS based on the work completed in MHAT and any other relevant information to better the agency and the community that fits with the mission of HSS.

9. Work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and managerial staff as needed on all aspects of project.

10. Establish quality and reliability standards & practices by studying consumer requirements with other members of management

11. Cooperate with quality assurance operational requirements for the program and following up on work results.

12. Implement rule compliance audits and observation of service delivery audits for program as dictated by SAMHSA.

13. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, & establishing personal networks.

14. Coordinate outreach and manage the development of outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, and event promotional items.



The mission of HSS is to provide high quality, comprehensive services to Monroe County residents with mental health or substance abuse needs, or developmental disabilities. HSS is a private, non-profit community resource founded in 1973, providing confidential COA-accredited services.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma, but Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or Communication is preferred
  • Two years of experience in Human Services or related field preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to create positive impressions and communicate with a wide variety of people
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
  •  Experience with doing trainings and presentation
  • Able to travel extensively thorough out the community and be available for some weekends and evenings
