The primary responsibilities of this job will be to pursue mechanistic studies of a neurodegenerative disease protein, identifying its interacting proteins and devising strategies to manipulate its function. Additional roles include performing and analyzing genetic screens using CRISPR libraries.

  • Perform independent research projects aimed at defining mechanisms of human neurodegenerative diseases, writing reports, preparing manuscripts, communicating data with collaborators. 
  • Ph.D. in related field is required.
  • Also required are knowledge of neurodegenerative disease mechanisms, iPSC culture, molecular biology, strong written and oral communication.

Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

    The expected pay range for this position is $77,000 to $92,000 per annum.
