This role is the operational hub for our distribution and customer support, managing the flow of products from our facility to our customers. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, is well-versed in computer programs, possesses strong organizational and customer service skills, and has a foundational knowledge of the agricultural or equine industry.

Position: Transportation Coordinator/ Customer Service
Location:   Elk Grove, CA
Status:   Full Time in the office (no remote)
Hours:   Monday – Friday

Job Duties:

Logistics & Dispatch Management (The Core Function)
  • Dispatch and Coordination: Act as the primary dispatcher for all outbound deliveries, including company-owned (EGM) trucks, deliveries to major retail partners, and specialized custom milling orders.
  • Documentation Preparation: Prepare and organize all necessary shipping paperwork, including loading maps for warehouse staff and driver sales orders for delivery personnel.
  • Schedule Management: Own and maintain the EGM transportation calendars, ensuring optimal scheduling, efficiency, and communication across all delivery routes and deadlines.
  • Inbound Commodity Coordination: Take responsibility for placing and coordinating the delivery of raw commodities required for Production, ensuring timely inventory arrival to prevent manufacturing delays.

Administrative & Financial Support
  • Account Invoicing: Accurately process and manage account invoicing related to transportation and product sales, ensuring timely payment cycles.
  • Office Administration: Manage daily opening and closing office duties, ensuring the facility is prepared for business operations.
  • Laboratory Assistance: Assist the Quality Control team by processing lab samples and helping to verify testing results for product quality assurance.

Customer Service & Communication
  • Customer Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for the company, delivering exceptional customer service to all clients, dealers, and partners.
  • Communication Flow: Efficiently manage all incoming and outgoing communications, including answering phones and responding to emails promptly and professionally.
  • Digital Engagement Support: Provide support to the marketing team by assisting with social media objectives and direct customer interaction online to maintain a positive brand presence.

Education / Experience Requirements:

Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience: Proven strong foundation in customer service in previous professional roles.
  • Technical Proficiency: High level of competence in using standard office software, including Excel and Google Drive, and the ability to quickly learn other technologies.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex schedules simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (The Strong Candidate)
  • Transportation Knowledge: Familiarity with modern logistics practices and the use of electronic logs (ELDs) for commercial drivers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Practical experience with horses or livestock, or equivalent academic training such as college courses in Animal Science or a related field. This knowledge will be crucial for understanding product needs and effectively communicating with our specialized customer base.
