Position Overview
The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and creating firmwide content and communications. This content includes newsletters, announcements, updates to the intranet, and certain external communications related to areas of talent, development, recruiting, culture and engagement, benefits, and pro bono. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support for all internal communications-related activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates, compiles, and drafts all content for internal firmwide daily newsletter (Inside V&E) and assists as needed on other internal newsletters, and internal announcements and meeting materials
- Researches and curates new content for special weekly features (such as “Tech Tips” and “Wellness Wednesday”)
- Creates and edits photos, short-form motion graphics, and other digital assets
- Maintains updating of homepage and assists with other areas of content on the intranet
- Collaborates with Communications team members and other business services teams including Business Development, Digital Media, External Media, Creative, and Talent/Human Resources/Benefits to assist with the development of content for internal communications
- Conducts follow-up analytics and collects feedback for improvement and efficiencies on our internal communications
- Proofreads announcements, press releases, newsletters, and various documents within assigned timeframes to ensure accuracy
- Assists with other communications projects, materials, and research as needed
Secondary
- Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting Communications team with compiling and maintaining editorial calendars; researching; and various administrative duties
Working Conditions
- Job is performed in a typical office environment with the ability to work remotely on day a week, and is often dependent on input and approval from others.
- Occasional overtime is required.
Minimum Qualification
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Public Relations required.
Experience: Two years of relevant experience in marketing, public relations, or internal communications required.
Special Knowledge: Knowledge of communications, public relations, and digital media a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficient use of PC and MS Office Suite; and newsletter formatting and email distribution tools, and photo and video editing tools such as Photoshop and Canva.
Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and planning skills in order to comply with multiple deadline projects. Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively and easily adapt to change. Comfort level with learning new technology and staying abreast of trends.
Qualifications: Outstanding interpersonal skills and capable of working effectively with attorneys as well as professionals in all administrative departments. Ability to maintain confidential information.
