Internal Job Title: Compensation & Job Evaluation Analyst
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Position Summary
As a Compensation & Job Evaluation Analyst, you will support the development and implementation of job classifications as well as maintenance of the current compensation program. You will work closely with HR teams and department managers to ensure roles are accurately classified and evaluated to ensure fair and competitive compensation structures. Additionally, you will assist the compensation team by helping to classify and evaluate positions during the recruitment and promotion processes.
Responsibilities
Job Classification and Evaluation
- Assist in developing and maintaining job classification systems.
- Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate job grades and compensation levels.
- Collaborate with HR teams and department managers to ensure accurate job descriptions and classifications.
Compensation Administration
- Help assign classification and ranges to positions and candidates being recruited.
- Research and participate in market surveys.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of pay structures, including providing analysis, preparing costing scenarios and reporting to assist in decision-making.
- Coordination, calculation, and implementation of annual compensation adjustments, as well as regular maintenance of related files and databases.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate with stakeholders to gather information and provide updates on job classification, evaluation, and compensation processes.
- Address any issues or concerns related to job classifications, evaluations, and compensation levels.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into job classification, evaluation, and compensation systems.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure job classification, evaluation, and compensation processes comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in job classification, evaluation, and compensation.
- Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of job classification, evaluation, and compensation systems.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with HR teams to support overall HR initiatives.
- Provide support and guidance to team members on job classification, evaluation, and compensation matters.
- Participate in HR team meetings and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications:
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or applicable field) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and additional work experience
- Relevant certifications will be considered assets (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-CP, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- HR practices and compensation cycle management
- Compensation structures and practices
- Job classification, evaluation methodologies, Pay Equity Legislation
- Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
- M365 (with advanced Excel - e.g. formatting, filtering, pivot tables, formulas (Xlookup, Averageif, Filter, etc.))
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Compensation or HR Analyst (or similar role)

Mandatory Requirements
