Are you passionate about creating safe workplaces and leading the charge toward climate neutrality? We are a globally operating leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, and we are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager EHS & Sustainability to shape and implement our environmental, health, safety, and sustainability strategy across multiple sites.
In this role, you will ensure compliance with key EHS standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949), proactively identify risks, lead audits, and foster a culture of safety and prevention. You’ll reduce workplace hazards, improve ergonomics, and implement systems for incident reporting and prevention.
At the same time, you’ll drive sustainability initiatives across our European operations—advancing energy efficiency, working with multidisciplinary teams to reduce CO₂ emissions, and promoting circular material use. Your leadership will help protect our people, our environment, and support our journey toward climate neutrality.
Key responsibilities
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Ensure legal compliance, fulfillment of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 requirements and all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, and health conditions according to the regulations and internal standards e.g. noise, chemical exposure).
- Lead incident investigations, analyze injury/illness data, identify root causes, or environmental issues and implement corrective actions, ensuring standardizations and cross fertilization.
- Ensure the hazardous waste management compliance with environmental permits.
- Develop and monitor systems for incident prevention and workplace safety. Near Misses and hazard detection.
- Support plants in achieving corporate EHS goals and drive continuous improvement in ergonomics and property loss prevention.
- Oversee onboarding, training and coaching of EHS personnel; and site management. Review and improve training programs.
- Collaborate with external agencies and internal stakeholders to achieve world-class safety performance, .
- Provide regular reports to Corporate EHS leadership and ensure alignment with global standards.
Sustainability
- Lead sustainability initiatives across energy, transport, and material use to support the company’s climate neutrality strategy.
- Promote circular economy principles by maximizing reuse of materials and minimizing waste across all sites. Especially collaborating in advanced projects.
- Develop and implement site-level sustainability programs and support Kaizen and improvement events.
- Act as deputy chair of the European Sustainability Committee and represent the EU region in global sustainability efforts. Towards CRSD, ESG reporting
- Coach and support departments on sustainable practices and compliance with corporate sustainability policies.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
What You Bring
We’re looking for a candidate with a strong mix of technical expertise, hands on approach, leadership capability, and strategic vision:
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in EHS and sustainability leadership in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 in alignment with IATF 16949 standard.
- Experience with hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, and environmental permitting.
- Strong understanding of HSE principles, technologies, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in leading audits, risk assessments, and corrective action programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (German, Polish, Czech) are a plus.
- Willingness to travel across European sites and occasionally to the US.
