Status: Exempt (Salary)

            

FT, PT, PRN: Full-Time 

 

Shift: Monday - Friday  (8a – 4:30p) 

 

On Call Rotation: As needed, including weekends and holidays.

                        

Location: Serves the Counties of Cherokee, Macon, Graham, Jackson, Clay and Swain

Position Summary: (Role Description)

 The Regional Nursing Director is an example of Four Seasons Values,  therefore positively impacting all the lives that interact with the organization.  Recruit, select, & develop the right people in the right roles within the  team.  Develops the team into the best providers of healthcare as evidenced by – CAHP scores, surveys, quality audits, financials etc.  Leads in the creation of a culture in which everyone strives for excellence.  Strives to continuously re-design the systems and processes of the operating infrastructure of Four Seasons, always optimizing the pursuit of our mission.  Ensuring the financial/economic health, welfare, growth, and security of the organization.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Position Description)

      

  • Oversee delivery of resident and family care services to patients and families residing in the region.
  • Recruit, retain and ensure the professional development of a strong interdisciplinary clinical team.
  • Participate annually in strategic planning, collaborating with the Four Seasons Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors and staff to provide appropriate input and planning assistance
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Service Coordinator to ensure appropriate utilization of volunteers 
  • Collaborate with Growth team and other leaders to develop a plan for building and effectively maintaining community and referral source relationships, receipt of donations, and communication with media. 
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of the financial resources of Four Seasons:
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal and local laws and accreditation standards (Medicare, Division of Facility Service, DEA, DHHS, Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission)
  • Provide oversight to Team Leader to ensure effective individual patient/family safety plans and agency policy and procedure to promote workplace and environmental safety. 
  • Practice within the scope of license, certification or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders and staff to achieve the organizational performance goals
  • Conduct monthly one to ones, departmental meetings, and supervision of team leaders
  • Develop and manage operational functions of assigned region. 
  • Collaborate with professional development to ensure documentation and scope of services meet compliance standards

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Education:       

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in nursing or equivalent experience; Master’s in healthcare related or leadership preferred.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of four years hospice clinical experience; hospice management, preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Demonstrated skill/expertise in pain and symptom management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and facilitate the work of an interdisciplinary group
  • Demonstrated understanding of reimbursement, regulatory requirements, and Medicare Conditions of Participation

Licensures & Certifications: (if applicable)

  • Current, Valid RN License to practice in North Carolina
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of valid automobile insurance
  • HPNA, CHPN or CHPCA certification, preferred

 

Summary of Physical Requirements:

  • Flexion/extension of arms/wrists
  • Hand dexterity to include grasping/gripping, pushing
  • Fine finger movements to include writing

Other Duties: 

 

  • Pursue progress toward individual learning plan
  • Model and hold others accountable to delivering care and service consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values 
  • Ensure the development of a departmental education plan in collaboration with the Four Seasons Director of Professional Development
  • Participate in appropriate community education and outreach activities of Four Seasons
  • Participate in regional and national work groups and events that benefit the service of Four Seasons and/or Internal Education
  • Adhere to safety and infection control best practices
  • Participate in the coordination of the patient’s hospice care in accordance with professional standards of practice
  • Provide oversight to Team Leaders for interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments and plan of care processes
  • Contribute to patient and family counseling and education initiatives
  • Participate in Administrative On Call coverage
  • Perform specific assignments as directed by the Chief Clinical Operations Officer.
