We are looking to add a Division Controller to our team at our Development Center in Lebanon, Ohio! The Division Controller for the Flavor business is responsible for managing the Controlling function in support of strategic and business objectives, planning, and analysis for the business unit. This role partners closely with operations, commercial, R&D, and procurement teams to provide strategic financial support and drive profitability through effective cost management and business performance tracking.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regional Financial Management

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the flavor segment within the region.
  • Provide in-depth variance analysis of actual vs. budgeted performance, including revenue, COGS, OPEX, and working capital.
  • Deliver accurate and timely regional reporting to division leadership and corporate finance.
  • Responsible for all CO period end closing steps and process

Operational & Manufacturing Support

  • Partner with operations teams to manage product costing, manufacturing variances, and yield analysis.
  • Monitor cost center expense trends; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory valuation, actual average costing, and capital project accounting.

Commercial Finance & Strategic Business Partnering

  • Support commercial teams with customer and product profitability analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Pricing team to evaluate pricing models, margin optimization, and contract performance.
  • Collaborate with regional sales and product management teams on business cases for new products and market expansion.

Systems, Tools, and Reporting

  • Actively engaged in Optima and SAC implementations 
  • Leverage SAP (CO/FI/MM/PP modules) and SAC Reporting for data accuracy, reporting integrity, and process integration.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide real-time visibility into performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes using digital tools and automation.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Champion compliance with group accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
  • Follow and implement Group controlling policies, recommend development of controlling policies and procedures.

Other duties in support of company objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required, CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive controlling experience in manufacturing environments; at least 2 years in a regional or multi-site role.
  • Strong command of SAP ERP (especially CO/FI and MM modules) and Power BI reporting tools.
  • Industry experience in flavor, fragrance, food ingredients, or specialty chemicals is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of standard/actual costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Experience in industry and international groups preferred
