About the Role:
The Dairy Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and management of the dairy section within a retail or grocery environment. This position is responsible for maintaining product quality, organizing inventory, and providing excellent customer service to meet the needs of shoppers. The Dairy Clerk will oversee the stocking, rotation, and display of dairy products to maximize freshness and appeal. Additionally, the role involves monitoring inventory levels, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Ultimately, the Dairy Clerk contributes to a positive shopping experience by keeping the dairy department well-organized, clean, and fully stocked.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of dairy products and food safety standards.
- Ability to lift and move products up to 50 pounds safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a grocery or retail environment, particularly in a dairy or perishable goods department.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and point-of-sale technology.
- Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Customer service experience with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences.
