The purpose of this position is to focus on the mechanical equipment, integrity and conditions of compressor stations to ensure safety reliability and availability of compression on the system through coordination of overhaul and major maintenance of compressors.
Responsibilities
Develop strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of compressor capabilities and for ensuring safety, reliability and availability in alignment with company goals and objectives.
Provide technical leadership to ensure adequacy of mechanical support services to operations field personal.
Manage and ensure the proper integration of mechanical activities between the technical services, engineering, company support and operations units.
Provide technical assistance, mechanical expertise to operations managers and region offices.
Provide consultative services and technical advice to resolve operations problems, including the development of alternative courses of action and approval of mechanical activities.
Evaluate and present recommendations to management as to the technical feasibility, cost, time requirement and contract support required for proposed or future projects.
Establish audit criteria and coordinate mechanical audits for operations management, and coordinates expertise to support the mega audit program.
Establish common based objectives for operations in the mechanical and equipment operations categories, including, reliability and availability.
Establish internal control measures for the overhaul projects, including budgets, outage coordination and contractor requirements.
Prioritizes overhaul projects across the NNG system to ensure the critical projects are identified and part of the 5-year plan.
Participate in the development of the NNG and departmental business plans.
Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including employee safety, selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, measuring, and reporting the work performed within the department.
Manage the capital asset categories of Compressor modification – EE, Foundation Stabilization- EK, Turbine Unit Exchanges- ES, and Risk Vibration- EW, as program manager for the capital project process.
Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Advanced degree preferred.
Eight plus years of related experience, including three years of supervisory / management responsibilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
