Your Impact at Lila
Our day-to-day work— creating samples, running experiments, and generating high-quality data—will feed directly into closed-loop optimization campaigns that accelerate catalyst discovery in our science factory. What You'll Be Building
- Work hands-on with custom designed electrochemical instruments, integrating gas diffusion electrodes and combine with online analytics
- Analyze spectroscopy and chromatography data (FTIR, GC, HPLC, etc.) for gas and liquid samples, and uncover mechanistic insights - both online and offline characterization.
- Design and run experiments to accelerate catalytic discovery collaborate with AI-driven workflows, enabling real-time learning cycle and push the limits of high-throughput electrochemistry.
- Digitial log of experiment workflows, samples, reaction conditions, calibrations, and results, ensuring data integrity for AI-driven analysis. Basic proficiency in Python for data processing or instrument scripting.
- Assist senior scientists in troubleshooting electrodes, flow components, and analytical instruments.
- Follow strict EHS protocols for pressurized gases, high-current electronics, and chemical handling.
- Contribute to brief reports and present findings in team meetings.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Coursework or lab experience in electrochemistry + analytical chemistry
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as gas/liquid chromatography, optical spectroscopy
- Comfort working with gases, adhering to EHS protocols and following detailed SOPs.
- Basic proficiency in Python or another scripting language for data handling is a plus.
- Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions and learn.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team
Bonus Points For
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instruments (eg. GC/HPLC/UPLC)
- Familiarity with automation platforms
