About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Café Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our café. In this role, you’ll ensure exceptional food and beverage service while creating meaningful training and work opportunities for young people and volunteers. You will play a key role in driving business growth, operational excellence, and youth development — all while upholding the values of Oasis Youth Services and The Salvation Army.

This is a permanent full-time position based at Oasis Central Coast, Wyong NSW. Salary is in accordance with Hospitality Award Level 5

How you will make an impact

  • Oversee daily front-of-house and back-of-house café operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards

  • Drive business growth by identifying sales opportunities, attracting customers, and enhancing their experience

  • Manage stock, ordering, and inventory to minimise waste and maximise cost efficiency

  • Monitor budgets, financial performance, and reporting to meet revenue and expense targets

  • Lead, mentor, and support café staff, students, and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture

  • Deliver practical and classroom-based vocational training and learning experiences

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and operational standards

  • Maintain café cleanliness and safety in line with industry and organisational requirements

  • Continuously monitor and improve café performance through data and feedback

  • Build strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, and suppliers

  • Prepare accurate reports on operations, financials, and performance

What you will bring

  • Commercial Cookery or Hospitality qualification

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry

  • Proven experience supervising trainees or students

  • Experience as a vocational trainer (highly desirable)

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Commitment to youth development and social enterprise values
