About the role
- Oversee a team and the operational implementation of maintenance services, to ensure that the Department’s educational facilities are safe, clean and fit for use
- Develop and implement facilities management strategies, plans, systems and programs
- Evaluate the effectiveness of facilities management strategies, operations and work programs
- Undertake research to identify and review new asset management and facilities management technologies and systems
- Develop, review and update maintenance procedures manuals and deliver training programs to facilitate the successful implementation and administration of maintenance contracts.

About you
- Experience in engineering, facilities management, building services, or a related field.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders dispersed across a large geographical location
- Strong understanding of asset management principles and legislative requirements
- Ability to operate with a minimum level of supervision in an environment characterised by competing priorities, tight deadlines and legislative frameworks
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent workplace experience in engineering, facilities management, building services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
