Overview
We are looking for a reliable and versatile Traveling Dental Assistant who is also skilled in front office operations to support our multi-location dental practice. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who is organized, adaptable, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care both chairside and at the front desk. The ideal candidate will travel between various office locations as needed, assisting with clinical procedures and ensuring smooth day-to-day front office operations. Mileage reimbursement is provided for all work-related travel. Clinical Duties: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout the visit Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness according to OSHA/CDC guidelines Take digital X-rays and impressions as needed Document patient charts and update treatment notes Educate patients on post-op care and oral hygiene practices Front Office Duties: Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out procedures Schedule and confirm appointments across multiple office locations Answer phones and address patient inquiries with professionalism Verify insurance eligibility and assist with claims processing Present treatment plans and review financial options with patients Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Requirements: Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training Valid X-ray certification (state-specific) CPR/BLS certification Valid driver's license and dependable transportation Willingness and ability to travel between office locations Minimum 1 year of experience in dental assisting and/or front office preferred Proficiency with dental practice management software Denticon Key Traits: Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with different teams Flexible and adaptable to different office environments Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly wage based on experience Mileage reimbursement for all work-related travel Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional development and continuing education Supportive team environment with room to grow Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Travel to 10 of offices within the Orlando area Occasional flexibility required based on practice needsResponsibilities
- Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
- Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
- Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Customer Service; acknowledge, smile and greet patients upon arrival/dismissal
- Respond to patient questions and or concerns according to DCA Policies

- Follow up on no shows/cancellation of Appointments
- Register Patients on sign in sheet
- Post charges and payments to patient accounts
- Checking voicemail on a daily basis
- Maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
or
- Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
- X-Ray certification
- Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a dental, medical, or other health-care office, preferred
- Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO/PPO), is a plus
- Experience answering telephone
- Must have exceptional customer service skills
