  • Expected full-time salary range between $ 140,000 - $170,000 + variable compensation + 401(k) match + benefits.

What you will be doing:

The AI Specialist supports the evolution and maintenance of CLS’s technology strategy and ensures AI solutions are aligned with CLS’s overall business goals. Reporting into the CTO organization, the AI Specialist is responsible for staying current on emerging technologies in the AI space, contributing to AI project design and implementation, and collaborating with business units to shape and execute AI use cases. The AI Specialist partners closely with the AI Governance Officer, solution architects, and engineering teams to support technical feasibility, architecture design, vendor/tooling evaluation, and implementation.

The AI Specialist plays a central role in enabling the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence at CLS, ensuring technical rigor in all AI-related development and operations. They support project teams with architectural oversight, vendor/tool selection, and issue resolution, and provide guidance on AI technical risks, performance, and optimization.

The AI Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Remaining current in the AI domain from a technology perspective, including toolsets, platforms, and frameworks, and providing regular insights to the AI Committee and CLS leadership.
  • Providing technical guidance on the development and execution of AI solutions to support CLS’s business strategy.
  • Collaborating with the AI Governance Officer and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
  • Developing training and communications to improve AI awareness across technology and business teams.
  • Supporting AI-related project design and delivery, including assessments of third-party vendors and tooling for each use case.
  • Working closely with the solution architecture and engineering teams to ensure that AI solutions are technically sound and aligned with CLS architecture standards.
  • Participating in troubleshooting and incident resolution processes related to AI technologies.
  • Supporting AI governance during project execution, including technical controls and compliance with CLS risk standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Prior experience in technology strategy, innovation, or architecture roles, ideally with exposure to AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the evolving AI ecosystem and emerging technologies relevant to the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and toolsets including cloud-based ML platforms, open-source libraries, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing AI architectures or integrating AI products.
  • Ability to evaluate third-party solutions and provide recommendations based on performance, integration complexity, and risk.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory expectations and industry frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, UK/EU AI Act, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work across business and technology functions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for responsible AI innovation and a continuous learning mindset.

 

 

Professional qualifications / certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Relevant technical certifications in architecture, cloud, or AI/ML platforms are desirable.
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and technology risk standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) is highly desirable.
