ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for overseeing all credit and collection activities and operations, as well as providing necessary guidance and training amongst the A/R team. This position will ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures which align with company strategies with the goal of maximizing sales within an acceptable level of risk. Responsible for leading the team to ensure the prompt collection of customer payments to maximize cash inflow and to minimize bad debt. Candidate will need to work collaboratively and cross functionally with Sales, Accounting/Finance, Operations, Customer Service, auditors (both external and internal) and warehouse/logistics departments.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Primarily responsible for providing direction and oversight for the timely and accurate delivery of billing, collections and cash application activity and dispute resolution.
• Provide leadership, guidance, periodic training and coaching to other members of the A/R team as required
• Participate in preparation of internal and external audit materials and on strategic and cross organizational projects and assist with special projects as needed
• Oversee all collection activities while evaluating the continued effectiveness of current collection policies
• Provide routine and ad hoc reports/insightful analysis to support management
• Ability to forecast cash to support the financial planning of the organization
• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
• Maintains and updates customer files, including any name/address/contact person changes.
• Identifies delinquent accounts by regularly reviewing A/R aging and customer account balance(s); contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Willingness to research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts as needed.
• Generates monthly billing statements and invoices as needed.
• Performs top customer account reconciliations monthly.
• Perform month end close activities related to A/R.
• Performs other A/R related duties as assigned.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and technological skills with a focus on accuracy and detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors and associates
  • Supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience using SAP preferred
  • 5-7+ years of accounts receivable experience dealing with large volume customers preferred
  • Experience working with collection agencies; bankruptcy filings preferred

Position Location: This role can be hybrid, based out of Cary, NC (2 days a week in office).

Salary: $60,900 - $87,000 dependent on skills and experience
