MAIN FUNCTION: Reporting to the General Manager, North America Transportation & Supply Chain (TSC). This position is accountable for managing the NA Oils refined, crude and by-product fleets pertaining to our processing facilities as well as being the key link between TSC, Crude oils department, and Refined oils sales group as it pertains to fleet utilization, inventory monitoring and maximizing refining and crush rates at these facilities.

- Develop a working knowledge of our softseed & soy processing industry, whereby understanding the flows from our crush plants through our refineries. This will include crush rates, yields, refining capacities, inbound crude requirements, outbound refined requirements, and storage capacities at both our plants and our export terminals.
- Daily monitoring of our sales position on refined and crude oils and gain a working knowledge of our customer base and their requirements as it pertains to the specific quality and type of equipment.
- Manage the fleets required to move the refined, crude, and by-products into our refineries, customers, transfer facilities, and to our terminals for export.
- Develop key communication with the crude oils and by-products group as well as the refined oils sales staff in regards to their needs for equipment in moving oil to our deficit refining locations.
- Become knowledgeable in all oil freight spreads for both crude and refined, and identify opportunities to ship oil to/from our correct locations and customers. This includes conducting numerous rate analysis.
- Identify fleet requirements through analysis of production estimates, average turn times and truck/rail percentages as they pertain to each of our operations.
- Keep abreast of world and U.S. supply and demand, price trends, and price relationships on all oils to assist the sales group in anticipating changes in transportation requirements.
- Periodic visits to appropriate processing locations to team build with production staff and analyze logistical opportunities.
- Monitor shipments to and from our plants to insure timely delivery of our crude and refined oils to maximize car fleet efficiencies.
- Monitor daily inventories and production to anticipate storage problems and to maintain proper crude oil supplies.
- Work with other Oils NA supply chain analysts to maintain and monitor our crude oil supply planner that ties in crush rates, refining rates, storage capacities, yields, and downtimes that will provide the oil group with accurate projections on oil supplies and movements.
- Monitor crude and refined oil flows to our transfer facilities and export terminals to meet vessel requirements and to minimize both railroad and vessel demurrage.
- University degree in Agriculture, Business Administration or Commerce, supplemented with a minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible experience in the merchandising of commodities and logistics.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
- Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgement in making decisions.
- Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to contribute within a team based work environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users and internal customers. Working knowledge and use of our railcar management system (RMS).
- Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment
