As Community Fundraising Lead, you will also be responsible for the management of the Scottish Fundraising Managers and will work closely with the Associate Director of Income Generation and other senior stakeholders to evolve and implement the fundraising strategy.
You will also be responsible for the implementation of fundraising plans for each centre and Maggie’s in Scotland, ensuring a balanced income portfolio and appropriate return on investment.
You will manage headcount and costs in line with the annual plan, organisational strategy and fundraising framework. The post holder will be responsible for increasing awareness of Maggie’s in Scotland through centre marketing, events and communications.

Key responsibilities
- Lead generation of revenue income to meet annual targets across designated Centres
- Managing the planning and execution of annual fundraising plans in each Centre to ensure sustainable growth
- Supporting the Associate Director of Income Generation with the development and co-ordination of the Centre fundraising strategy.
- Lead the delivery of the annual target for centres via all relevant income streams
- Work closely with other Scottish leads and colleagues across Maggie’s
- Drive a high-performance culture through providing effective leadership and management
- Work effectively with colleagues across Maggie’s to maximise fundraising opportunities
- Maintain good relationships with Centre Heads and programme staff in order to facilitate fundraising relevant to Centres
- Embed an effective donor care strategy across the region, consistent with Maggie’s approach, and working closely with the Supporter Journey Manager
- Ensure that all fundraising activity is compliant and informed by sector best practice. Raise concerns on gaps and present solutions
- Ensure that all Centre Fundraising staff operate in accordance with Maggie’s culture, principles, and brand
- Set and evaluate KPIs for direct reports working with the Associate Director and Performance
- Prepare and contribute effectively to Fundraising Management Group meetings
- Deliver effective communication and positive, collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the Associate Director and other colleauges set the annual fundraising budget for the areas of responsibility.
- Manage the income and expenditure budgets for areas of responsibility
- Recruit, retain and develop the staff required to deliver Maggie’s objectives
- Lead, coach and develop teams to improve performance
- Recruit, manage and support senior volunteers – in particular, taking responsibility for Centre Boards
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of professional fundraising.
- Ensure that data is all appropriate information is captured effectively and fundraisers have the reports to support their work
- Report to the Associate Director via monthly analysis of fundraising performance and KPIs and compile additional reports as required.
Skills, knowledge and expertise
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing and delivering fundraising strategies.
- Proven ability to lead multiple teams to deliver income targets.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills and proven ability to manage remote staff.
- Demonstrable ability (i.e. a track record) of fundraising results.
- Demonstrated experience of working effectively with senior volunteers and stakeholders.
- Proven project management and excellent organisational skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to present complex information, persuade and motivate others.
