Job Title: Machine Operator
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Training: Conducted on 1st shift
Starting Pay: $20.00/hr. (based on experience) + night shift differential
Job Purpose
Machine Operators are responsible for operating equipment in the department to meet daily production and safety goals. This role ensures the consistent manufacturing of high-quality units by adhering to company standards and procedures, PLEASE BE AWARE THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR A FORKLIFT DRIVER.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a variety of machinery, including:
Block machine
Loader/unloader
Crawler/transfer car
Kiln
Cuber
Wrapper
Palletizer
Splitter
Batching computer
Color system
Tumbler and tumbling cuber
Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures and ensure team compliance.
Produce high-quality units by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Recognize and adhere to all internal and ASTM quality standards.
Perform light electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
Utilize INFOR to enter production data via scanner or computer.
Train and coach team members on machine operations and procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Complete daily production and maintenance paperwork.
Communicate equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance teams promptly.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education, Skills, and Experience
Basic electrical knowledge
Ability to use a multimeter
Proficient in reading a tape measure and depth gauge
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English
Supervisory Responsibilities: Able to lead a team
Work Environment: Exposure to noise, fumes, dust, and hot and cold temperatures while in manufacturing facilities.
Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 80 pounds requiring repetitive hand movement, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy. Works indoors most of the time. Works close to other people
