About the Department

Are you ready to lead with impact? We’re looking for a Division Financial Supervisor to oversee critical accounting operations for Kent County Community Action. In this key leadership role, you’ll guide a team managing accounts payable/receivable, collections, reconciliations, and financial reporting—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and fiscal integrity in support of public service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop accounting staff.
  • Oversee invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and County policies.
  • Improve financial procedures and audit accuracy.
  • Train staff and support financial system users.

What You Bring:

  • Strong accounting background, preferably in government.
  • Leadership and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial standards.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local grant requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, combined with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least two (2) years experience as supervisor or lead person; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices as well as generally accepted auditing standards.

Thorough working knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
