As the Accounting Associate, reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, encompassing, but not limited to, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. The Accounting Associate will support the accounting team in strengthening internal controls, recording financial transactions timely, and contributing to accurate financial reporting.
What You’ll Do:
- Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process vendor invoices, verify payment terms, and generate payments while maintaining positive vendor relationships.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, reconcile accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Perform recordation of transactions in the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Research and resolve vendor or customer account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare supporting reconciliations to support month-end and year-end close activities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial statements, and general ledger maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle a high volume of transactions while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Unquestionable integrity.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-4 years of work experience in accounting or finance; healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
