Job Overview
Develop new business, maintain existing accounts, and coordinate sales and catering activities to drive hotel revenue while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and grow relationships with corporate, social, association, and SMERFE clients
Actively prospect and qualify new business opportunities
Negotiate room rates, event space, and catering packages within approved guidelines
Prepare and review contracts, banquet/catering event orders, and proposals
Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure smooth execution of events
Conduct site inspections, attend client meetings, and provide on-site support during events
Track sales, monitor bookings, and provide forecasts and reports to management
Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and community events
Contribute to sales action plans, marketing initiatives, and revenue strategies
Maintain accurate client files and ensure follow-ups for repeat business
Qualifications and Requirements
College education plus 1–2 years of sales or catering-related experience, or equivalent
Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations preferred
Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and customer service skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and conventions
Physical Requirements & Other Skills
Frequent standing and moving within and outside the facility
Use of computer and phone for communication, reporting, and presentations
Basic math, budgeting, and forecasting skills
Problem-solving, reasoning, and team leadership abilities
