Role Overview
Eastman Kodak is currently hiring multiple HSE Safety Data Sheet Specialists to join our WW Health, Safety and Environment team. This is a remote position based in the United States.
As a member of the Product Stewardship team within the WW Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) organization, you will provide leadership and support to Kodak business divisions to ensure that hazard communications, GHS, and Dangerous Goods classification requirements are met for products put on the global market and for materials used in manufacturing. You will be at the leading edge of Kodak’s evolving product portfolio and will have a direct impact on our business success.
As you grow into this role, you will:
• Provide hazard classification, Safety Data Sheet authoring, and labelling services for Kodak’s global businesses
• Classify Kodak materials for US Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) / WW Dangerous Goods (DG) transportation for air, ocean, and road shipments globally
• Manage, validate, and update Kodak’s vendor Safety Data Sheet portfolio
• Respond to internal, customer, and other external requests related to hazard and transport classification
• Monitor emerging chemical regulatory requirements and industry trends to advise business units on portfolio impact
• Plan for ongoing hazard classification regulatory updates in advance of deadlines
• Coordinate with third-party consultants and platforms, as needed, to enable compliance with global regulations
• Interpret and communicate regulatory issues that will impact products and business strategies. Coordinate with legal and business resources to develop strategies to address regulatory concerns
• Lead efforts to establish and improve HSE work processes
Required Skills/Experience:
• 1+ years experience in authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), product labelling, and classifying for transport (Hazardous Materials, Dangerous Goods)
• Proficient with the US OSHA Hazcom Standard, US TSCA, UK & EU CLP/REACH, Canada HPR/WHMIS, global GHS, and chemical control and inventory regulations
• Strong knowledge with one or more of the following: US DOT Hazmat, EU ADR, Canada TDG, IATA, IMDG
• Familiarity with EU Poison Center Notifications is a plus
• Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask, learn new tasks quickly, prioritize work, and meet or exceed deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interpret, summarize, and communicate complex information to achieve results
• Ability to work well in a team environment across multiple disciplines and at all levels within the company
• Good judgment, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Well-organized, with good record-keeping and document management skills
• Strong aptitude with data analysis, HSE-related information systems, and proficient with Excel
Education and Experience:
- BS or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field with good chemistry knowledge
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant hazard classification and authoring experience
