The Prince George’s County Health Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Bridge Center Partnerships Intern (Public Service Aid II) grade G04 position, in the Behavioral Health Division.
This is a temporary position that is limited to a maximum of 1000 working hours.
This position does not offer benefits.
About the Position
This is a part-time student internship position at the Bridge Center at Adams House working with program staff across the Behavioral Health Division to create a centralized partnership inventory for the division.About the Agency

The PGCHD works to protect and support the public’s health through numerous services that range from restaurant inspections and disease tracking to care coordination and health promotion. The department is composed of four divisions: Behavioral Health Services, Environmental Health and Disease Control, Family Health Services, and Health and Wellness, supported by the Office of Administration, Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Health Officer. The mandate of the department has been, and will remain, broad. This plan emphasizes improving core functions and operations, including protecting the public from health threats, implementing strategies to support healthy living, and maintaining a focus on vulnerable populations, while developing efficient internal processes to support these activities.
Position Duties
Work with Behavioral Health Division staff to identify and catalogue all established service providers for the division Shadow staff on partnership meetings Building knowledge about the social determinants of health to inform organization of partnership inventory Network with staff across the division and wider health department Create a visually appealing, easily accessible, centralized e-book of all established behavioral health division partners Updating e-book during the internship period when new partnerships are formed Train administrative staff on using the e-book and consistently updating the e-book Present on the finished product to Behavioral Health Division staff Work with the health department’s EPIC electronic medical records team to adapt the e-book to be integrated into the EPIC medical records system for easy client referrals
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate, or equivalent, and/or from no previous work experience to two years' experience in a health field.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow employees.
- At least 2 collective years of a higher education public health degree (university or graduate level)
- At least 2 years of experience in the health research, program development, or other health fields
- Knowledge about the Social Determinants of Health framework and other relevant health frameworks and theories
- Public speaking experience At least one role in which the candidate has been responsible for networking or partnership development
- A valid driver's license
