We are seeking a long-term, reliable Ocean Export Supervisor to join our export operations team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong leadership, customer service, and team-building skills who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment.
What You’ll Do
As an Ocean Export Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and cost-effective handling of international shipments—from quote to delivery. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for clients, oversee day-to-day operations, and lead a team of export professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and motivating the Ocean Export team to achieve operational excellence.
- Managing end-to-end export processes including documentation, compliance, and carrier negotiation.
- Monitoring client requests and ensuring timely responses, routing, and shipment updates.
- Overseeing FMC filings, MARAD compliance, IMO/DG processes, and AES filings.
- Preparing and reviewing international documentation such as legalized documents, chamber docs, and letters of credit.
- Leading monthly export meetings, participating in weekly team meetings, and ensuring account coverage.
- Training, onboarding, and supporting team growth through performance evaluations and development.
- Maintaining strong client, vendor, and agent relationships.
- Continuously improving workflows, SOPs, and operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience (freight forwarding/export operations).
- Experience handling DG, Hazmat, and ITAR Shipments
- Previous experience with CargoWise is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-first mindset with the ability to nurture strong relationships.
- Willingness to continually learn and adapt in the dynamic international logistics industry.
- Strong computer skills (typing 35+ WPM, Windows, MS Office, CargoWise, etc.).
What We Offer…
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
- Salary $70,000-$85,000 annually, depending on experience
