We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Supervisor, Quality supporting the Quality Assurance Regulatory Team in Houston, TX, a typical day will include:
Oversee team members to ensure efficient task completion and adherence to quality processes.
Devise and implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating product and equipment precision.
Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment.
Conduct quality assurance tests and perform statistical analysis to assess control levels.
Manage product quality risks and undertake root cause analysis for corrective actions.
Ensure corrective measures and deviations meet reliability standards.
Review and approve investigations, ensuring timely completion of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), validations, and verifications.
Facilitate investigations and CAPAs at third-party suppliers.
Foster a culture of excellence by leading performance management, driving talent development, and enhancing employee engagement and recognition.
Make day-to-day decisions affecting team members, managing task assignments and workflow.
Ensure adherence to Good Practice (GxP) regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain accurate documentation.
Contribute to overall compliance and continuous improvement of the organization.
Provides leadership in preparing the site for surveillance audits/inspections, including notified body audits and health authority inspections.
Conducting surveillance audits, including planning, reporting, and monitoring of findings and associated CAPA’s.
Ensuring audit follow-up activities are completed according to schedule and meet requirements.
Provides guidance to the site in interpreting the procedures to ensure compliance.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the Medical Device regulations, guidance, and requirements.
Champion continuous Quality System improvement and effectiveness.
Promote awareness of best industry practices at the site.
Training/Presentation Content Creation Support.
Develop, implement, and maintain complex/high-level training systems, including the creation of material, as well as ongoing maintenance of content.
Ensure compliance of SOP’s, OSHA, ISO, GMP, and FDA regulations.
Creation and delivery of training material to target audience.
Assist with content modification and presentation delivery of the onboarding program for new hires.
Work from corporate-level mandates to identify organization-wide training and development needs.
Assist in training material development annually for Safety and Quality Day.
Manage HR activities such as performance appraisals, training, interviewing, counseling, and staff and resource utilization
Interface and coordinate with other departments to determine priorities and accomplish shared objectives.
Manage multiple priorities and effectively hold others accountable for results.
Act as back-up/delegate for the Quality Systems Manager as needed on items related to training and onboarding.
Work with the Document Control team during high volume times, i.e., audits and special projects.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
