Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Spot weld and/or solders pins onto wire TC’s and probes, prior to molding, utilizing either a semi-automated or manual welder.
- Place wire or probe sub-assemblies into a multi cavity mold and over mold the end.
- Performs in process and/or final inspection on completed products for proper function and correct pins in accordance to the given calibration.
- Measures the finished length of molded probes using a ruler or other suitable measuring device.
- Change guides and calibrations as required.
- Perform some basic setup procedures which would include adjusting shot size, fill and overall cycle time along with the operating temperature of the molding machine based on the type resin being used
- Purge material using a compound to clean the barrel and screw.
- Place hardware into a multi cavity mold and over mold to create a connector
- Wraps and packages wire TC’s
- Practices good housekeeping and safety procedures and adheres to all company policies.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Ensures plastic resins are properly dried and maintain appropriate levels of resin in machines.
- Ensures spare parts inventory for equipment.
- Verify product performance through out process by using tools such continuity meters.
- Performs routine maintenance on machines and equipment. Verifies dimensions and alignment of molds.
- Changes and installs mold, artwork, injector pins, calibration identification, wire and probe guides. Then checks for functionality and performance.
- Supports Operators to assure machine and quality performance.
- Completes required paper work for production, maintenance, etc.
- Maintains acceptable levels of production according to established standards.
- Practices good housekeeping and safety procedures and adheres to all company policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to verify parts meet specifications via visual inspection including ability to conform to color codes.
- Ability to run manual equipment
- Need to be able to pickup and place small parts in the proper position within a mold efficiently.
- Must be able to measure with a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk, bend and lean frequently.
- Regularly must be able to lift 10 lbs. and occasionally be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Need to be able to work in an environment with elevated temperatures, occasional smoke, grease and oil
- Must be able to work closely with coworkers to provide guidance and possibly training to enhance quality.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- 4 years’ experience working on production machinery
- 1 year of experience operating a production molding machine
- Math skills relating to verifying product dimensions and production schedules.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers, supervision, and other employees within the organization.
