Course Number and Title: SLA121H1S – Russian Cultural History in Twelve Images

 

Course Description: Russian Cultural History in Twelve Images An introductory survey of Russian cultural history through key images, exploring the historical, intellectual, artistic, and mythical significance of these images in Russian cultural identity and in foreign perceptions. Among the images are: Rublev’s “Trinity,” The Bronze Horseman, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and Tatlin’s Tower. Taught in English, readings in English. No prior familiarity with Russian language or culture is expected.

-Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $10,510.04

-Sessional Lecturer II $10,510.04

-Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,760.28

-Sessional Lecturer III $10,760.28

-Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $11,030.36

 

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Slavic & East European Languages & Cultures
 

Description of Duties: Teaching SLA121H1S, Russian Cultural History in Twelve Images: planning and setting goals for course, preparing for classes, teaching in class, designing and administering and grading assignments as appropriate, providing students with adequate feedback.
