Medical Staff Services dept - Mon-Fri 8am-5pm hybrid option (combination of in-office and remote) - 2 years relevant work exp required - RN, CPMSM or CPCS licensure/certifications preferredProvides consultation, facilitation, education, and data analysis support for the improvement of patient safety and outcomes through the professional practice program. Manages the focused and ongoing professional practice activities of the medical staff and Advanced Practice Professionals with their planning, design, implementation, assessment, and improvements based on research and national standards.

Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) - National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) - National Association of Medical Staff Services, Registered Nurse (RN) license - Arkansas or Compact StateDescription
1. Responsible for the establishment and management of the hospital-wide Professional Practice Evaluation (PPE) process for all privileged providers utilizing screening criteria for monitoring and evaluation of clinical and professional performance.
2. Serves as the primary contact to incorporate all aspects of patient care administered by privileged providers in order to produce a thorough evaluation of their clinical practice, including performance data within specified metrics and outliers.
3. Ensures timely completion of focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE) on privilege specific measures to verify appropriate clinical competence.
4. Conducts data collection for ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE) and is responsible for providing feedback to the medical staff in compliance with The Joint Commission standards by preparing statistical reports.
5. Analyzes and stratifies data; identifies trends, patterns, and areas for improvement; uses data from quality improvement tools to interpret variation.
6. Accountable for the data import/export/integrity of confidential provider quality data and understands the impact of data on the individual practitioners.
7. Responsible for education and training of Leadership Council and Credentials Committee of the Medical Staff in their role as Professional Practice Evaluation Committee.
8. Works collaboratively to manage development and analysis of clinical indicators specific to privileges to measure the quality and safety of care and services provided to patients.
9. Leads discussions with individual departments and key stakeholders to improve metric tracking, delivery of reports, and remedy issues.
10. Responsible for establishing scheduled project reviews, measurable project goals and objectives, and monitoring progress toward achievement.
11. Serves as a coach/mentor to meet the educational needs of medical staff and hospital departments in areas related to Professional Performance Evaluation.
12. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
13. Conducts data collection for Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) utilizing appropriate sources (i.e. PHIS, medical records, billing, OR Manager, Safety Tracker, surveys).
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
