✔ Currently seeking a science based degree i.e., Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Chemical, Physical or Biological science

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Currently in a Science degree program required.
  • Experience: One year experience of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing/laboratory experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: 
    • Phlebotomy Certification from ASCP, ASPT, AMT, NHA or other national accrediting agency as approved by Laboratory Senior Leadership. (Phlebotomy certification is required in facilities where phlebotomy is included as part of job responsibilities); required.
    • *OR* MLA certification from ASCP or CMLA certification from AMT, preferred.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
