Major Education Client is looking for a Network Engineer to work on a campus fiber optic network project. The engineer will have experience working in campus environments deploying and testing network infrastructure in IDF closets as well as Layer 2 trouble shooting and patching/cross connecting
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Implement and deploy scalable solutions for both global networks and data centers
- Engineer for network escalations for troubleshooting of incidents
- Optimizing the monitoring and operation procedures and keeping up-to-date the associated procedural documents
- Propose technical advice on the solutions implemented and technical reports
- Involved in the changes, responsible for the versioning follow-up
- Reporting of incidents and ticketing
- Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging network technologies
COMPENTENCY:
- Proficient with the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring of core routing and switching, LAN/WAN/ MAN services
- Proficient in routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
- Mastery of Spanning-tree, VTP, Port Channels, Load balancing, SPAN
- Experience with Arista and Cisco Nexus 9k, 7k, 5K, 2K configuration and design
- Ability to analyze and design network systems to achieve efficient and secure operation
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis
- In-depth understanding of network security and access control
- CCNA Required
- Current Cisco data networking certifications i.e. CCNP, CCDP, CCIE strongly preferred.
- Experience working in large enterprise networks is desired. The ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management will be key to these roles.
EXPERIENCE: 3-7 Years
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
