The duties will primarily involve teaching in the areas of Microbiology, Plant Biology, and Invertebrate Biology. The successful applicant will contribute to instruction for our Biology, Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity (EEB), and Integrative Genetics and Genomics (IGG) majors, including as the instructor of record for some combination of the following courses: General Microbiology, Virology, Microbial Ecology, Biology of Plants, Biotechnology, and Invertebrate Biology. They may also be involved in teaching in the Introductory sequence of biology courses as well as experimental biotechnology method courses, including Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology, Research Techniques in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Genetics, and Advanced Techniques in Microscopy. The successful applicant may also propose new courses in their area of study. The teaching load for this Full-Time position would be equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester.
