Job Description:Are you a Part qualified (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA) or AAT Qualified Treasury Accountant with some post qualification experience, looking for a new challenge around the Oxford area? Would you like to work for a thriving company with instantly recognisable tasty products?
Our Wallingford site is home to our deliciously sweet Rowse Honey and this could be your base location too. The role is Hybrid, with 2 days per week in the office
As Treasury Accountant the role purpose is to fully manage the control of cash for Snacks, Sweets & Rowse, monitoring of inflows and outflows, provide recommendations on tools required to manage pinch point.
The key areas of the Treasury Accountant role are as follows:
- To take ownership of the day to day running of invoice factoring at Valeo Snack Foods.
- To produce weekly cashflows for our business’ (medium term – 13 week).
- To support with longer term cashflows as needed (12 months).
- To approve bank transactions and perform bank admin as needed.
Key Accountabilities include:
Invoice Discounting
- Be the key point of contact for the Factoring partner providing them with timely and accurate information each week.
- Answer all queries which arise in the factoring process, resolving variances and owning all Factoring spreadsheets.
- Own the period end process posting the required journals and managing the Factoring balance sheet control accounts.
Cash Flow
- Complete daily and weekly cash flow files for our businesses.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure that the cashflow includes up to date information.
- Provide commentary for any week-on-week variances in the 13-week cashflow.
- Analyse the accuracy of historic cashflows and suggest improvements.
Banking
- Help to oversee weekly BACs runs.
- Own ad-hoc payments ensuring controls are followed.
- Manage internal banking transfers and administration.
- Support and cover for the Treasury Assistant as needed.
- Part qualified (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA) or AAT Qualified with post qualification experience.
- Previous experience working within a finance-based role.
- Confidence with using Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SAGE 1000/IFS (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience of invoice discounting and cash flow forecasting (desirable but not essential).
