As an HCI Engineer at MORSE, you will be responsible for designing and developing intuitive and user-centered interfaces for full stack web and mobile applications. These applications provide cutting-edge algorithmic-based simulation, situational awareness, mission planning, and AI capabilities to a wide variety of National Security Ecosystem customers. You will work closely with software development teams to ensure seamless integration of UI designs with backend systems. Responsibilities:
Design and develop user interfaces for web-based applications using human-centered design principles
Collaborate with software engineers to implement UI designs and ensure seamless integration with backend systems
Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions and improve user experience
Develop and maintain design documentation, including wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize design requirements
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in HCI and UX design
Requirements
US Citizenship required and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in HCI or UX design, with a focus on web-based applications
Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Python
Strong understanding of human factors, user-centered design principles, and design thinking
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
Knowledge of design patterns, user experience principles, and accessibility guidelines
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in an Agile development environment
