Job Summary:
The Milking System Liner Specialist works as a part of the dealership’s hygiene team both on-farm and in our dealership. The milking machine is the most important piece of equipment on a dairy farm, and as part of its maintenance, it is vital to change teat cup liners regularly. Liners are the only part of the milking system that come in contact with the cow, and their condition is critical in mastitis control and for efficient milking. The Milking System Liner Specialist is responsible for keeping our liner maintenance program running efficiently and effectively for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Remove used lines from the shell.
- Wash shells, load liners, clean and wash misc. equipment.
- Inspect shells to make sure they meet quality standards.
- Re-package hygiene products, including cleaning and preparing containers returned from customers.
- Maintain and clean the work area.
- Organize the week’s route schedule.
- Prep liners at shop – pull liners into shells for the proper dairy.
- Load truck and travel to the dairy
- Keep track of each dairy’s cow numbers and down time and days till the next liner change.
- Leave pre-printed card with return date to the farm.
- Return used liners to the shop for disposal.
- Change milking hose as requested or scheduled with the dairy.
- Keep the hose sizes and lengths on record for each farm.
- Write up an invoice for each farm stop.
- Keep track of inventory and what needs to be ordered.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to keep the correct amount of inventory in stock.
- Inspect air tubes and pulsator hose and change accordingly.
- Follow all company safety and procedures protocols.
- Record weekly schedule at the office.
- Work in a professional manner with all customers and co-workers.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Education
High School Diploma
Understanding of the Dairy or Agriculture Industry preferred.
Qualifications (Skills Required)

- Able to work with general tools – work includes cutting rubber, putting together milking shells and liners.
- Be able to meet customer expectations.

- Ability to work as a positive member of the MLS team fostering quality working relationships with other MLS team members.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, handle and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
