Description

The Snow Tubing Hill Attendant at Buck Hill is responsible for ensuring a fun, safe, and efficient experience for all guests on the tubing hill. This position involves interacting with customers, maintaining the tubing area, and ensuring the smooth operation of the tubing hill during winter activities. Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to handle physically demanding tasks in cold weather conditions. 

Requirements

Guest Assistance:  

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with the proper use of snow tubes, explaining hill safety procedures, and answering questions about the snow tubing experience. 

Safety Enforcement:  

• Monitor guests to ensure they are following all safety guidelines. Enforce rules regarding tube handling, hill speed, and proper riding posture to ensure a safe environment. 

Hill Operations:  

• Assist with the setup, organization, and breakdown of the tubing area, including checking equipment for safety, maintaining tubing lanes, and ensuring the area is clear of hazards such as debris, ice build-up, or equipment malfunctions. 

Queue Management:  

• Help manage the lines at the top and bottom of the hill, keeping an organized and efficient flow of guests to minimize wait times and ensure fairness. 

Lift Operation:  

• Assist with the operation of any mechanical lifts or conveyors to transport guests and their tubes uphill safely. Ensure that guests are properly secured on the lift. 

Incident Reporting:  

• Act quickly to respond to and report any accidents or injuries, providing basic first aid when necessary and contacting emergency services or ski patrol when needed. 

Maintenance:  

• Help maintain a clean and safe environment by ensuring the tubing area and surrounding spaces are free from litter, and assist with periodic snow removal and hill grooming as needed. 

Team Collaboration:  

• Work closely with other staff members to provide a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests, and communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors. 

Qualifications 

Experience: 

• Prior experience in outdoor recreation, ski hills, or other winter sports environments is a bonus. 

Skills: 

• Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, outgoing attitude to engage with guests. 
• Ability to work well with others and assist teammates during busy times. 
• A keen sense of safety awareness and the ability to enforce rules and regulations effectively. 
• Previous experience in customer service role is a plus but not required. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in cold, outdoor environments for the entirety of a shift.
