Main Purpose of the Job:

The Logistics Specialist is a key role within the Supply Chain Distribution Center network, responsible for managing and improving logistics operations. This position collaborates with internal teams including Transportation, Flow, Factory Planning, Customer Facing Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Deployment, and DC Operations. This role will provide back up for Supervisors. The role requires expertise in warehouse management systems, order fulfillment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Execution

  • Coordinate deployment of materials into the warehouse to ensure customer order fulfillment.
  • Manage dock schedules, trailer spotting, and yard management systems (NYMS/SWOP).
  • Oversee Line to Truck planning based on factory schedules.
  • Ensure warehouse staffing aligns with daily customer demands.
  • Maintain accuracy of appointment completion reports and ensure SLA compliance (2-hour load completion).
  • Operate computer terminals, printers, and scanners to support logistics tasks.
  • Provide shift coverage for supervisors and support frontline teams.

System & Process Management

  • SME on Transpareon, EWM, and local WMS platforms; familiarity with SAP/GLOBE systems preferred.
  • Manage failed I-docs between EWM and E-80.
  • Maintain work instructions for SIOCS and lead process improvements.
  • Compile daily workload and carrier tracking reports.
  • Support inventory control, including IB/OB, FIFO, and order maintenance.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Participate in network calls and represent the DC in deployment, flow, and transportation discussions.
  • Lead small project execution and contribute to Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) initiatives.
  • Train and mentor peers; support future deployment locations.
  • Conduct audits (NYMS, BOL, ICC, quality) and ensure compliance.

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience (5–7+ years) may substitute for formal education.

Experience

  • 3 years minimum experience
  • Proven experience in logistics operations, labor planning, and asset management.
  • Demonstrated leadership in training and mentoring.
  • Experience with SAP, EWM, and other WMS platforms.
