Role Detail
KWM’s Sydney office is on the lookout for a talented Chef to join our Corporate Hospitality team. Reporting to the Head Chef and working closely with a collaborative team, you’ll prepare meals and deliver catering for our café, boardrooms, functions and events, as well as assisting with evening meal service.
This is a full-time, permanent role, Monday to Friday (12:30pm – 8:30pm) meaning no weekend work and the chance to enjoy real work–life balance.
You’ll be part of an exceptionally professional yet friendly team, where open communication, a strong work ethic and a flexible approach will see you thrive.
Daily duties will include:
- Supporting food preparation and presentation for in-house catering, including café items, buffets, and cocktail events, always delivering high-quality results
- Collaborating with the team to plan daily café menus and formal dining options
- Assisting with stock ordering and inventory management when required
- Maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, ensuring equipment and utensils are well cared for
- Providing catering support for after-hours functions and firm events, ensuring a seamless client experience
- Contributing to special projects as directed by senior leaders (Head Chef, Guest Services Manager, Business Services Manager)
- Helping supervise and mentor Catering Assistants to support their development
- Delivering outstanding service by responding promptly and professionally to client requests
- Consistently demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and uphold the King & Wood Mallesons brand and reputation
About You
- Qualified Chef with experience in professional kitchens (boardroom, restaurant, or corporate environment)
- Skilled in food preparation, menu planning, stock ordering, and wine/food pairing
- Creative and health-conscious in menu design, with an understanding of dietary needs and variations
- Strong client focus - professional, courteous, and confident when engaging with clients at all levels
- Reliable, adaptable, and calm under pressure, with excellent time management skills
- Food and wine pairing knowledge is desirable
- Tech-savvy with MS Office skills and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible with working hours and experienced in coordinating functions and events
