Overview: 

PacMar Technologies LLC, a privately-owned defense contractor, is seeking an Engineering Intern in the field of Naval Architecture. The incumbent will join a group of talented Engineers, Scientists, and Innovators with tremendous top-side potential devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Maritime Platform Design and Prototyping, Power and Energy, Autonomy and Data Science, and Naval Architecture among others. General Description:

Interns will gain hands on experience, developing the latest engineering technology and will provide engineering support with research, design, and test efforts in the defense industry. Engineering Interns will support a multidisciplinary team of engineers to define, design, and integrate the latest capabilities into complicated military systems. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Investigate new science and technology 
• Design, prototype, and test engineered systems 
• Develop software to support the operation of autonomous systems
• Assist in report writing and presentations 
• Perform other duties as assigned   
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma 
• 2+ Years of University-level education in naval architecture
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Modeling and/or Simulation with physical systems
• Experience and/or interest using data to understand problems and test hypotheses 
• Statistical methods for Data Analysis
• Programming experience with Python
