Position Duties

The Colorado Lottery's mission is to maximize the proceeds from Lottery game sales to support the Lottery's beneficiaries for the good of all Coloradans.

A typical day as a Material Handler - I
The Colorado Lottery Division is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional to support the fulfillment, shipment, and inventory management of scratch ticket order and lottery related items. This position plays a key role in warehouse operations, special event logistics, and courier coordination while also providing occasional backup to fleet services. The role requires physical stamina and flexibility to accommodate varying schedules , including some state holiday and in-state travel.

Primary Duties

Scratch Tickets Order Fulfillment:

  • Fulfill daily scratch ticket orders, including replenishments and initial allocations, using established standards for speed and accuracy.
  • Prepare and package materials for shipments, ensuring proper labeling, manifest accuracy, and compliance wit shipping procedures.
  • Assist with fleet support by picking up and shuttling vehicles for maintenance or cleaning, following all safety protocols.
Materials Movement & Logistics:
  • Prepare shipments by assembling boxes, restocking flow racks, and shrink-wrapping pallets for transport of active games and materials.
  • Support the loading of daily scratch ticket orders and assist with tracking inventory transfers and missing ticket shipments.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, including pallet jacks and forklifts, for staging and transport.
Warehouse Support:
  • Provide logistical support for Lottery promotional and special events, including transporting equipment, materials, and IT resources to event sites and offices.
  • Handle warehouse tasks such as receiving, shipping and transporting surplus items, scratch ticket inventory, and returns between Denver and Pueblo.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the minimum (MQ) qualifications. 
Experience Only:

One (1) year of relevant experience in warehouse operations, logistics and/or working at a Lottery employer.


OR


Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year.

Special Necessary Qualifications:
  • Safety-Related work is done in a warehouse environment where industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, etc.) is in use; may be required to work some state holidays, weekends, and some after-hours support may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado Driver's License.
  • Applicants must also undergo a conflict-of-interest assessment to determine compliance with the provisions of C.R.S.§ 44-40-110, and must remain in compliance with C.R.S. § 44-40-110 for the duration of their employment with the Colorado Lottery.
  • Applicants and immediate family members must comply with restrictions on game play.
  • Applicants and immediate family members must ensure compliance with appropriate Lottery laws and rules, including conflicts of interest.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • State experience working at the Lottery
  • Experience filling orders
  • Experience using a stock and fill level computer system
  • Experience with warehouse operations
  • Proficiency with Google Suite
  • Organizational Skills

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence. 

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.

Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle. 

To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who: 

  • Have an assigned State fleet vehicle

  • Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position

  • Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
