How You Will Make an Impact
· Ensure operational readiness by preparing, inspecting, and maintaining over 200 types of field equipment, 150+ consumables, and a 17-vehicle fleet, covering daily use, repairs, rentals, calibrations, compliance, and vendor coordination.
· Protect business continuity through effective asset tracking, procurement, insurance claims, and facility support across Livonia and Northville.
· Champion safety excellence by leading compliance programs (ISNetworld, Avetta, Highwire), conducting OSHA/MIOSHA reporting, managing drug and medical testing, and providing site-specific HASP reviews and QA.
· Inspire a strong safety culture by developing Toolbox Talks, delivering annual trainings (Confined Space, HAZWOPER, Fall Protection, etc.), onboarding new employees, overseeing PPE programs, and performing audits, investigations, and follow-ups.
· Lead specialized compliance programs including Troxler gauge oversight, confined space trailer readiness, calibration schedules, and NRC/DOT reporting.
· Drive continuous improvement by monitoring regulatory changes, updating safety programs, and supporting projects and training initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance.
· Be a trusted partner by providing responsive office and after-hours support, while ensuring communication, reporting, and collaboration keep teams safe, equipped, and productive.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not required).
· 5+ years of progressive experience leading workplace health and safety programs, with proven results in improving safety culture and performance.
· Demonstrated ability to champion safety as a core value and integrate it into daily operations, decision-making, and leadership practices.
· Strong knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
· Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, policies, training, and audits.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, from field staff to senior leadership.
· Proven ability to influence and engage employees in building a proactive, safety-first culture.
· Strong problem-solving, risk assessment, and incident investigation skills.
· Effective communicator, capable of delivering engaging training sessions and clear safety messaging.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and ensure compliance in a fast-paced environment.
· Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent (preferred)
· Strong understanding of field and laboratory equipment (inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair).
· Strong organizational, vendor management and procurement skills.
· Knowledge of fleet management (vehicle maintenance, insurance, DOT requirements).
· Familiarity with inventory management systems and asset tracking.
· Ability to read technical manuals, interpret regulations, and apply manufacturer specifications.
