A Community Loan Assistant is a critical role that facilitates loan closings and loan servicing with Lenders in the Community Markets. The position requires knowledge of loans with pending closing dates, organizing required documentation as well as monitoring ongoing requirements of all open loans. Community Loan Assistants will promote business for the Bank by providing exceptional customer service and referring and cross-selling appropriate bank products and services.
What You'll Do
- Processes consumer and commercial applications.
- Inputs applicants’ information into credit routing system to include Borrowers, Guarantors & all signers.
- Completes Red Flag and CIP information.
- Coordinates loan closings with the Lender and Loan Operations to include, but not limited to ordering credit bureau reports, ordering flood certificates, ordering title work, ordering appraisals, requesting loan documents, collecting loan closing fees, etc.
- Performs UCC searches.
- Processes and packages loan documents to send to Loan Operations for funding/closing.
- Assists customers with all account and loan payment inquiries.
- Processes loan advances per loan policy guidelines and coordinates loan payment processing as requested by the Lender or Borrower.
- Monitors loan and credit exceptions: Reviews exception reports and requests updated information from the Borrower and/or Lender. Submits documentation to Loan Operations for processing.
- Monitors other reporting (including, but not limited to past due loans, coming due and overdraft).
- Assists in Metro Markets as needed and requested by management.
- Recognizes red flags, scams, fraud, phishing, etc.
- Stays current on applicable banking regulations and security procedures and practices to prevent fraud or other bank losses and to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Performs responsibilities during Bank hours by being physically present in the Bank an average of 40 hours each week based on business needs.
- Travels between branches as needed.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of bank experience; loan administration experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, qualifying motor vehicle record report, and reliable transportation.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of loan administration.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willingness to continuously learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong social skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, and coworkers.
